Field Day 2012

Today was our annual field day at Columbia Academy!  It was a perfect day, a little hot at times, but overall you couldn't ask for better weather!  I have just some random shots of Grant and Madison.  We were all divided into grades so I had to run back and fourth from Grant to Madison and also my class.  It was a great day!

Let it Shine!

Madison started Gymnastics about 3 weeks ago at "Let it Shine" here in Spring Hill.  It is an awesome place that is Christ Centered and they pray before each practice.  All the coaches are so sweet and so helpful to all the girls!  Madison has ZERO background and just out of the blue wanted to start gymnastics because a friend from church just started.  I went in and let her do a one day free trial and she loved it and wanted to sign up that day!  She goes once a week and looks forward to it every week!  I have a few pictures from their "Fun Day Meet" that they had a couple of weeks ago!

1st Grade Program

Madison getting beautiful before her big program!
Transforming her into Bella Thorne!

I rolled her hair all in hot rollers at home and took
her to school where our hairdresser "Kari" met
us in my classroom to finish Madison
off and do all the finishing touch.
Kari worked her magic and
Madison's hair was fabulous!
Thanks Kari!!

Madison had her 1st grade end of the year parent's program on Wednesday.  They all had to dress up like a movie star or someone famous.  Madison dressed up like Bella Thorne off of Shake it Up.
All the students walked in on the red carpet.   They had some cute songs for us and then they feed the parents.  It was real sweet!  I can't believe Madison will be in 2nd grade!

All the students went one at a time to tell their favorite thing about 1st grade!

They were singing "Lollipop"!  Cute!

Lollipop, Lollipop oh lolly lolly lolly.......

Another cute song about "socks"!

Cheese!

Emmett Kelly

Grant had his 4th Grade state speech to do this week!  He was calm and cool and I was more nervous than he was!  His state was Kansas and he had to pick someone from the state and do a speech about them in 1st Person!  He chose Emmett Kelly.  I really didn't know much about Emmett Kelly, but he was a very interesting man.  I was planning to paint his face up like Emmett and get some clothes, but I luck up and found a mask so I didn't have to paint him up!  We also did an 1100 piece puzzle of Emmett Kelly as his extra credit to turn in.  I have pictures below from Grant dressed up and his puzzle we put together and framed!

This is the puzzle that we did and then I framed it.
I am going to hang it in my classroom after this year is over!

Mrs. Phillips wanted to take another

to take it off, because he said it was HOT!!

Jon Thunder!

Grant and Madison went last weekend to see Jon Thunder at the Strand Theater in Hohenwald.  Carolyn bought them tickets to see him.  Jon Thunder is a full blooded Apache Indian, who now lives in Middle Tn.  He came to share information about himself.  He showed them lots of artifacts and clothing.  Grant and Madison said it was awesome!  Here are some pictures from the presentation.

Madison had to get some popcorn for the show from Barbara!

This is a lot of the artifacts and clothing Jon brought to share!

Madison Learns to Ride her bike!

Madison decided on April 7th she wanted to learn to ride her bike.  She knew her bike-a-thon at school was going to be the next week and she wanted to be able to ride her bike without training wheels!  We were at the grandparents house, and she got on and literally within 30 min she was riding all over the place!  We were all blown away!  She is also the same child that told us when she turned 3 she would be ready to be potty trained (strong willed child).  So the day she turned 3 she was done with no accidents ever!  So I guess she was as determined and ready to ride her bike without training wheels and the bike-a-thon was her big motivation I guess!  She did awesome!  Here are a few pictures of when she rode her bike on her own.

Look at Madison Go!

She could really ride!

We had to go buy new tennis shoes since all we had were flip flops!

Great Granny was so proud of Madison!
